President Aissa Derhem brings an intimate knowledge of the South while his scientific background informs all of Dar Si Hmad’s projects. A PhD in mathematics and one of the heirs to Si-Hmad Derhem, Dr. Derhem’s imprint is in each and every project, and he works tirelessly to promote the values of the organization nationally and internationally.

Dr. Rachid Bouharroud is an expert in integrated pest management and the Head of the Research and Development Department at the Regional Center of Agricultural Research in Agadir. He was the first to identify the mealybug insect in the prickly pear cactus after its arrival in Morocco. He has also received the First Prize in the Grand Prix Hassan II for Invention and Research in the Agricultural Field, Advanced Sciences and Techniques category.

Mounia Benrhanem is a hydraulic engineer and passionate advocate for water, with over thirty years of experience connecting science, territory, and community. As president of the Observatoire de la Consommation Responsable, she champions sustainable water management, fostering knowledge, cooperation, and shared responsibility. Her vision blends modern science with Morocco’s ancestral know-how, making water conservation both a practical and cultural practice.
